"Prince of Broadway" Print of Proscenium Design (cut from show) by Beowulf Boritt

11” x 17”

Print of sketch for proscenium design for Prince of Broadway. Hal Prince had suggested a proscenium in the style of the New Yorker cartoonist Peter Arno that would show all the people involved in a production. The Arno proscenium representing from left to right: producers, managers, sound designer, lighting designer, costume designer, set designer, orchestrator, musical director, choreographer, director, librettist, composer, lyricist, actors, singer, dancer, and theater critics (burning in hell). The design lasted exactly one meeting before being cut. This is the only print of the design in the designer’s collection. Signed by designer Beowulf Boritt.
